The movie follows the life of Fahri Fedi Nuril and his wife Aisha Laudya Cynthia Bella, who have been married for several years and have a young daughter together. They seem to have the perfect life until Fahri receives an offer to work in a prestigious architectural firm in the United States, which requires him to move there for a minimum of two Fahri and Aisha have always had dreams of building a family together and growing old together, the prospect of being separated from each other for two years is devastating for both of them. Although Fahri initially rejects the offer, he eventually accepts it after being encouraged by his boss and mentor, Pak Karyo August Melasz, who tells him that this is an opportunity of a who is a devout Muslim, is initially hesitant about the idea of moving to the United States since it would mean leaving behind her family and friends, as well as their Islamic community. Fahri's job is also demanding, which means he has to work long hours and has little time for his take a turn for the worse when Fahri meets his beautiful and charming colleague, Lia Raline Shah, who develops feelings for him. Although he initially tries to resist her advances, he eventually succumbs to temptation and begins an affair with her, which puts his marriage and family in the story unfolds, Fahri and Aisha must confront their inner demons and learn to reconnect with each other in order to save their marriage.
